MINI-BIO  SUMMARY               Born Aug 25, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Founder of  shrinkingYOUR thinking LLC, assoc. electronic engineer, business IT software architect, inventor, amateur historian L5000Y, publisher of simple best practices visual modeling concepts, and thinker about an  easy way to think about a GOLF swing."bobby Jones a;;parts working together.  James has a  Bachelors degree in Business Management,  graduated Cum Laude,  from  Rutgers University NJ,  an Associate Degree in  Electronic Computer Science,  with Honors from the  RCA Technical Institute. He was an Electronic Technical Advisor  for Applied Information Industries from 1972 to 1973 - very first satellite communications system developed for the commercial Maritime Industry. Later he worked in Europe for (CGS Consyst, Italy and  Datatel, France) 1975 two early European distributors of CODEX Corp. high speed modems first  9600 bps modems very advanced network technology used in both military and commercial applications.  From late 1976 - 1982, worked  for  NLT Computer Corp in Philadelphia area - whose purpose was to provide the best turnkey IT solutions to Electrical Wholesaler Industry. Started as computer systems business applications Analyst, then later Senior Account Manager w/ $3 million revenue responsibility.

In Feb 1983 started working for Anheuser-Busch Company, as a Senior Project Mgr and designer.  For 23 years he worked as Project Manager, systems designer, and Senior Systems Architect - on new project to build Anheuser-Busch’s most advanced fully integrated  (WCS) Wholesaler Computer Systems. This fully integrated  BEER (distribution-to-retail) business software system went live in 1985 and rolled out to many big and medium sized A-B beer distriburtors by early 1990s.  To my knowledge, this system was the largest fully integrated business/financial application system developed and deployed in the SUPPLY CHAIN industry written entirely in Unix/c and c-isam database engine. This comprehensive business system ran on software and DBMS that was as close to the Unix kernel as one could get; it was extremely efficient; flexible, adaptable, and capable of providing total fault tolerance using real-time updates to remote secondary processor.  During , it remained exremely efficient, flexible, adaptable to change, and well liked by all it's beer wholesaler customer..

James has lived, worked, and traveled extensively in both Europe and Japan. His core competencies are in research, systems thinking, planning, designing, and project management implementation.  Following the birth of his son in 1988, began earnest search for the best ways  to teach his SON various sports using mostly a common sense approach. James has an extremely broad based background in business IT problem solving, and possess a talent  for critical thinking.  During his career, he developed and utilized a very simple and repeatable processes for distilling vast amounts of information and system requirements into visual data and process roadmap models. His methodolgy used simple chaulk board diagraming symbols
for outlining and indentifying all key processes, key components, while telling a story using real business case examples. The takeaway roadmap models allowed designers, developers, management, and especially the CUSTOMERS to all share a common understanding of  core business process and IT system requirements.  This rather simple but elegant story telling process was later published under the trademark name called Visual Modeling Technique (VMT™).

After retiring from Anheuser-Busch 2003, he began pursuing a long standing notion that he was very close to solving the riddle of a simple golf swing.. In 2004, he founded a new company called Shrinking Your Thinking LLC;  and thus began his search for golfs Holy Grail of optimum swing thoughts; with intention to publish and marketed under the brand name SYT GOLF.  Latest theories are summarized in this short video clip Hitting IT Dead Straight, and another's similar view 2021.
Prior to leaving A-B, he experienced and enjoyed remarkable success in both his corporate endeavors and individual sporting endeavors with tennis his favorite, followed by skiing and golf.  Having read many golf books and monthly golf magazine tips, He knew that most of the commonly taught golf instruction contained way to much "baggage" and could be eliminated, The quest was on to discover the essence of what mind-to-body components are present in all good golf swings.  Indeed, there are a reduced set of mental triggers (KEY words) a pre-shot feeling and visual awareness that our mind  might dwell upon and nothing more. The current 2016-2017 version is truely most eloquent and embraces the simple notion that both sides of body (hands, arms, torso, hips, legs) all work together using one or two core universal golf swing keys. For various reasons, the final version of this research effort has yet to be published.

During this much longer than expected journey, also published final versions of: SYT SKIING, Last 5000 Years, SYT History Maps,  produced numerous other fact-based historical roadmaps; enhanced older and created new "business process" diagrams using the same core Visual Modeling Techniques.  VMT™ is a simple repeatable method for  TELLLING  A STORY and summarizes information in a chronological, process oriented, and rational visual form. The following is a review of SYT web site statistics by IP address for six month period (Sep 2011- Mar 2012). SYT web site had a globally diverse and growing audience.  Click here to see MS spreadsheet stats: VISITORS -by Country/City.

  PROFESSIONAL  EXPERIENCE

2004 - 2012     shrinking YOUR thinking  LLC        - Saint Louis, MO                  SYT TRADEMARK

Founder, president and inventor SYT Golf  Method, SYT Skiing method, publisher of Visual Modeling Techniques. VMT™ is a procees that allows both end-users and developers to share a common understanding of core requirements and system specifications using simple visual models, diagrams and a repeatable processes. It offers a standard yet simple approach for capturing and describing historical flows, business process flows, product flows, and data flows in a unified manner.  Mankind History and Global Roadmaps (L5000Y)  provide accurate  at-a-glance  historical  perspectives of mankind's journey over the last 5000 years.  All  significant  cultures, civilizations, empires, places, religions, inventions, and milestones are shown in order they appeared and thrived on planet earth. USA history roadmaps offer unique fact based  perspectives  of  USA debt,  presidents,  policies, and  milestones over past 75 years.  SYT GOLF concepts have been a work-in-progress for many years. It began with the notion that conventional golf teaching methods are way too complicated. There had to be a simpler approach to learning and keeping a sound golf swing.  This unique "mind-to-body" golf swing technique was not optimized for prime time until recently (Aug 31, 2012), and now in the process of creating SYT golf swing mini booklet, and self-teaching VIDEO. The plan was to have this golf self-learning product ready for market by late Dec 2011. The final piece of golf swing puzzle was solved 4 months ago, when I discovered how best to keep our hands and "center of gravity" connected throughout the swing. The core principle is universal and applies to many other sports such as baseball and tennis.  I never dreamed it would take me over 20 years to perfect this elusive swing thought process (mantra) to the point where it should work for all folks regardless of  their age and already formed bad habits.  Along this the way has occupied himself with perfecting core snow skiing awareness thought patterns, produced many fact based historical roadmaps (L5000Y), USA History-last 75 years, enhanced business process Roadmaps. Recent updates and additions to both SYT GOLF and SKIING videos do provide a good sneak preview of what SYT GOLF teaching method  might look and feel like.  Now all that remains to complete my dream, is to publsh my final and best insights on what the mind should see and feel (to dwell upon) for the 1 and 1/2 seconds a golf swing takes..
